Why cannot Loox Reviews be detected on the page?
The Loox Reviews Exporter can automatically detect Loox Widget Reviews content on product pages. In the latest version, the automatic detection feature is disabled by default. You can enable it in the settings. However, manual detection allows for more accurate identification of reviews on the page, minimizing ineffective and redundant waiting time.
Sometimes, clicking the button may result in an error message, and the reviews cannot be detected. For example:
There are several possible reasons for this issue. Below, we outline common scenarios and their explanations.
1. Non-Product Review Pages
The Loox Reviews Exporter primarily supports Loox Widget controls, which are commonly found on most product pages. If the page does not include this control, the extension may not be able to detect reviews. Common scenarios include pages that use a non-Loox review system or pages that simply do not contain any reviews.
2. The Page Has Not Finished Loading
The Loox Reviews Exporter requires injecting detection code into the page to identify reviews. If the page hasn’t fully loaded, the detection code cannot be injected. You can check the page’s loading status by observing the extension’s icon in the browser tab.
During the loading process, you’ll see a clear Loading icon. Please wait for the loading to complete before clicking the detection button.
3. Reviews Have Not Finished Loading
Loox Reviews is a third-party component embedded into product pages through a framework. The page being fully loaded does not guarantee that the Loox Reviews system has also loaded.
Common scenarios include:
- The page has loaded, but the Loox reviews are not yet displayed, remaining in a blank or hidden state.
- Certain pages dynamically load reviews only when the review section becomes visible. If the reviews haven’t been displayed yet, the system will not load them, and the detection code will fail to retrieve any data.
Even if the page is fully loaded and detection code is injected, you may still not be able to fetch review data if the reviews themselves haven’t finished loading.

4. Could not establish connection
When a new extension is installed or updated, an error such as “Could not establish connection” may occur.
This is primarily because the current page was loaded before the extension was installed or updated, preventing the new extension from communicating with the program on the current page. The solution is simple: just refresh the page.
